Jmar Atienza

south expressway
the side-stepping sounds of your
feet remind me of cats mating
on corrugated iron roofs
the way your feet cautiously
apply moment on my house's wooden floor
making squeaky sounds
squeaky but surely
you reach my bedroom
and you're in for a ride
then we find ourselves heading
south
going deeper, deeper
deeper than love
deeper than soul
deeper than deep
and we find ourselves making
sense by sneaking into each other's
house every weekend
and you tell me things like
dreams
your dreams
your dreams for us
your dreams for humanity
and i tell you
      nothing
i just listen
when you tell me
when you keep telling me about your
feelings:
      "oh yes bb
      i luv u! i luv u! <3 <3 <3"
i have feelings
for you too, baby
but they only exist
in my pants
(and when i said i would love you
with all my heart
i didn't know i misplaced my heart
in my crotch)
